James S. Flower

Jim Flower was a founding principal of Strategic Asset Management, Inc. in 1981.  Jim is credited with establishing the proactive asset protection model of investing, which has been the cornerstone of the firm's investment management services since its inception.  It is noteworthy that this style of investing was almost unheard of back in the 80’s and 90’s.  It has become more popular in the industry as market declines and advances have become steeper and a little more frequent in the last 10-15 years.

Jim graduated from Max M. Fisher College of Business of The Ohio State University in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science degree in business and finance.

Before founding the firm in 1981, Jim spent two years at the financial planning firm of McCloy Financial Services in Columbus, Ohio.  Jim is a specialist in technical analysis and spends much of his time analyzing market trends and back testing variations of the firm's proprietary investment model in an ongoing search for potential strategic improvements.

Jim resides in Upper Arlington, Ohio with his wife, Joan, and is an avid tennis player in his spare time.  Jim was a two time All-Big Ten tennis player for Ohio State and has won twelve U.S. national doubles championships.
